Pro Shop Attendant

Description

The Pro Shop Attendant ensures inside components of golf operations are facilitated. This specifically relates to customer check-in, customer booking, and pro shop cleanliness, along with other responsibilities to maintain a professional Pro Shop.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

  • Meets and greets all guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Assisting golfers/customers with merchandise questions
  • Ensure the pro shop is stocked with merchandise in a presentable way
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the pro shop
  • Cash-out golfers/customers and maintain and monitor the front counter
  • Handle customer service requests of golfers courteously and professionally.
  • Answer phone calls

Qualifications

  • Prior golf-related experience ideal
  • Excellent Communication and people skills required
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills required
  • Basic understanding of computers and spreadsheets required
  • Positive interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate multiple tasks
  • Must have valid driver’s license

Bag Drop

Description

Bag drop personnel are responsible for the details and cleanliness of the golf cart fleet. They are our first impression on the guests and should always greet them with a smile. Bag drop is also responsible for picking up the range and keeping it neat for our guests.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

  • Greet and welcome guests
  • Stage carts in proper staging area prepared to service players as they arrive
  • Carts are stocked with tees, a scorecard, and a pencil before being staged
  • Be attentive and ready to service guests at bag drop
  • Remove/carry golf bags from cars and load on cart or bag drop
  • Pick range, wash ball, bag balls, and bring an adequate amount to the pro shop
  • Clean used carts and remove trash
  • Clean carts and be willing to perform basic janitorial duties

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication/relational service skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Willing to work hard, listen, and learn
  • Can work weekend, weekdays, and holidays

Player Assistant

Description

Player assistants check in golfers with their cart numbers and ensure tee times run smoothly. They guide guests to the proper starting hole, assist the bag drop when needed, and clean up the course at the end of the night.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

  • Collect cart numbers before guests take the tee
  • Guide guests to their appropriate starting hole
  • Transport carts from one location to another
  • Collect trash on the course at the end of each night
  • Operate large golf carts to transport guests to different areas on the golf course
  • Basic janitorial duties
  • Be friendly with guests

Qualifications

  • Is willing to work with technology
  • Has some knowledge of how to use a spreadsheet
  • Is friendly and will communicate with guests
  • Has a valid driver’s license
  • Can work weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Grounds Maintenance

Supervisor – Justin Peckens

Description

We have many positions open for the 2024 season. Come join grounds and help maintain the golf course.  We offer full and part-time positions with all shifts starting in the morning. There is flexibility but working 2-3 hours on one weekend day is also necessary.  Ideally you would be able to work between 10-15 hours part-time and near 40 hours full-time. Positions will likely run from late March until early November. Come join the grounds department and help maintain the course!

Qualifications

  • Looking for individuals 18 years and older
  • Willing to work early mornings
  • We are also looking for an individual who might be interested in the Registered Apprenticeship Golf Course Maintenance Technician program through the State of Michigan.
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Comfortable and willing to work with larger machinery and mowers

Food and Beverage

Description

Food and Beverage employees will be responsible for handling all aspects of kitchen sales. This includes the preparation of a variety of fast-made foods in our kitchen, bartending, and preparing to-go orders for golfers heading out to the course. This role also involves the responsibilities of the beverage cart, ensuring it is clean, well-stocked, and operated efficiently and safely.  Applicants must be willing to learn!  All tasks can be taught to even the most novice kitchen users, but an enthusiasm for learning and a positive attitude are needed.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

  • Welcome all customers warmly, creating a positive and inviting atmosphere.
  • Efficiently manage cash and credit card transactions, accurately ringing up and cashing out golfers for their purchases.
  • Capable of operating a self-contained fryer, char-broiler, and other basic cooking methods as well as being able to keep these items clean and presentable.
  • Constantly maintaining a clean, healthy, and organized kitchen environment. 
  • Basic bartending skills, preparing drinks to meet customer preferences.
  • Provide swift and attentive customer assistance, maintaining composure in busy situations and being able to work long periods of time detached from personal communication devices.
  • Efficiently operate and stock beverage carts for on-course sales
  • Constantly re-stock items and be able to carry some items up a flight of stairs
  • Enforce responsible alcohol service practices, ID customers, and be willing to participate in an alcohol safety program provided by the business.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service roles helps but we are willing to work with those new to a food and beverage operation.
  • Capable of simple math, able to operate cash registers and spreadsheets
  • A commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. Willing to wear golf-appropriate, work-provided attire.
  • Efficient multitasking abilities, being able to serve customers and prepare food simultaneously.
  • A pleasant personality that is a benefit to our customers and our staff.
  • Capable of schedule flexibility that includes working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
